Lehariya is a type of tie and dye from the state of Rajasthan, India. With a very distinctive striped pattern, it is traditionally done in bright colors. Leheriya literally translates to ‘wave-like’ symbolizing the rich textile heritage of Rajasthan.
It is the dyer’s extraordinary skill that brings out a leheriya. A lighter colored fabric generally in cotton, silk, chiffon or georgette is used for the process. The cloth is tied, folded and dyed. It is tied in such a manner that when the fabric is unwound, there is a resultant striped pattern on the fabric. Traditionally, craftsmen would tie and dip it in 5 different colors to get the desired pattern in multiple hues.
Inspiration and influences for leheriya has been regions like Udaipur in Rajasthan and Gujarat. The motifs and designs portray a sense of joy and colorfulness, retaining the simplicity of the culture of Gujarat.

Care Instructions
Our products are handcrafted with love—handwoven or handblock printed by skilled artisans. To ensure their longevity:
Dry clean only is recommended for all our products to preserve texture, color, and craftsmanship.
Avoid direct sunlight to prevent color fading over time.
For handblock printed cottons, gentle starching may be done if required to maintain crispness.
For pure silk handwoven sarees, always dry clean and store in a muslin cloth, folded with acid-free paper if possible. Keep away from moisture and perfumes to retain the fabric’s sheen and softness.
Preserve the beauty of handmade—handle with care.
