KUDRAT COLLECTION
This collection is about a conversation between the people and nature in the language of Gond to celebrate the crafts.

Gond Painting is mainly done in Patangarh Village in Dindori district of Madhya Pradesh. The Dravidian word "Kond," which means "green mountain," is the source of the term "Gond", one of the biggest tribes in India. Historically, this tribal group created paintings and carvings on the walls of caves that date back more than 1400 years, many of which are from the Mesolithic Period. The Gonds believed that looking at lucky pictures gave them good fortune. As a result, they painted designs, tattoos, and pictures on the walls and floors of their homes.

The beautiful conception of the Maheshwari Saree dates back to 18th century Madhya Pradesh. These Saree were initially made of pure Silk, but with the passage of time, Cotton was also one of the major fabrics used for these exquisitely designed saree. The interesting legend behind these suit is of Queen Ahilyabai Holkar who ordered various craftsman and artisans from Malwa and Surat to design a special suit with 9 yards, which later came to be known as the Maheshwari suit. These saree were supposed to be a special gift for the royal relatives and guests who visited the palace.
