About Ajrakh:
Ajrakh is a centuries-old craft rooted in the Kachchh desert, with a rich history dating back to the 16th century. The word “Ajrakh” is derived from the Arabic “Azrakh” meaning indigo, a key color in the textile’s bold patterns. It is also said to mean “aaj rakh,” meaning “keep it today,” emphasizing the importance of preserving this craft. The process of creating Ajrakh textiles is labor-intensive, requiring careful dyeing, printing, and multiple stages of drying. Each design is meticulously created using hand-carved wooden blocks, resulting in patterns that are truly one-of-a-kind. The artisans behind this craft spend up to 20 days to create each piece, imbuing it with love and tradition.

Ajrakh prints are known for their striking color combinations and intricate motifs, often inspired by nature and the world around them. The art form has evolved in the wake of the 2001 earthquake, leading to the establishment of Ajrakhpur, a village dedicated to preserving this heritage. Today, this craft continues to thrive and is recognized for its rich cultural significance and eco-friendly methods.

Embrace the timeless beauty of Ajrakh with this exclusive cotton suit piece, a true symbol of sustainable fashion and artisan craftsmanship.
